Last year after ordering something from a European company, I received a text message from someone claiming to be the USPS. The text said that my package was unable to be delivered due to an incomplete address and provided me with a link to update my information as well as to pay for it. The purpose of this scam is to steal credit card information of anyone who fills out the form. Luckily there were several ways to quickly determine that this was not legitimate. Firstly, the USPS does not text people asking for personal information or payments. Secondly, the package I had ordered had tracking, which requires a correct address to deliver to in order to function. Lastly, common sense told me that even if I had to update my address information, it made no sense that it would require payment to do so.
